Amy Herbert is a Certified Dog Trainer who has been training dogs since she was a child. She has trained dogs in Obedience, Rally, Agility, Canine Good Citizen & Conformation. Amy has a long background in equine sports including show jumping, cross country, english pleasure and showmanship. She is able to use a lot of her horse background with training dogs.
Amy loves all types of animals and truly enjoys working with them and seeing them learn things that will make their lives more enjoyable. She has many animals on her small farm and raises her own meat for her family. Most of the time you will find Amy, still in her pajamas, outside doing chores with her dogs following in her tracks.
As a child she had several Golden Retrievers, her first was a dark amber red boy named Jake. Jake was so special to her that when Amy had her first child she named him Jacob, in memory of her first dog that forever stole her heart. Throughout the years Amy had several Goldens but always loved the look of the Bullmastiff and knew one day she would have one.
In 2004 she purchased her first Bullmastiff and the rest is history!!
Amy is passionate about her dogs and spends countless hours researching the best diet, vaccine protocols, training etc. to ensure that her dogs are getting the best of everything and are raised to the absolute best that they can be. On the breeding side of things Amy is just as passionate about matching up the right dogs and pedigrees to ensure optimal health, temperament and longevity in the puppies she produces. Matching the right puppy to the right family is something she doesn't take lightly and does formal temperament testing on every puppy to ensure each family gets a dog that truly fits into their lifestyle and household.
All of her dogs are part of the family and spoiled rotten!! :) Amy's family consists of her husband Nate, son Jacob (now off at college), son Zachary (a Junior in High School) and her mom Becky (who lives with Amy and helps take care of the dogs and helps raise puppies).
